Yang long Forms Tai Chi Chuan

Yang Lu Chan, founder of the Yang style gained access to the Chen style tai chi secrets that were closely guarded by becoming a Chen family house servant, then spying on the Chen family members practicing tai chi from a hidden location, and as they practiced the forms remembering and practicing all he had seen.
Yang tried to teach himself the Chen style until after 10 years of self teaching he was discovered by the Chen family who then made him show them what tai chi skills he had learned.
Surprised by the great skill Yang Lu Chan showed the Chen family master Chen decided to take Yang on as a tai chi student.
Yang Lu Chan completely learned the old Chen style then adapted it to a keep fit method passing his style down to family members, and then these family members passing the Yang family forms onto their children.
The Yang style evolved into slow flowing movements that was called the big style (we know it as the long forms).
The long forms is also well known as the 108 forms.
Cheng Man Ching adapted and condensed the 108 Yang forms into the 37 Cheng short forms, which is a concentrated version of the 108 long forms.
